December 1st 2005. PerOs is pleased to be a part of the Novel swine vaccines technologies conference organized by the CQVB (Centre Québécois de Valorisation des Biotechnologies). This conference will provide an overview of the new technology used in the vaccination for swine. Dr. André Désormeaux, PerOs VP R&D, will discuss the potential of the Oralject™ technology to deliver oral vaccines to swine.

PerOs was proud to be a part of the 12th International EAFP Conference on Fish and Shellfish Diseases. The conference is a bi-annual event of the European Association of Fish Pathologists and aims to bring together renowned researchers from around the world to share their knowledge and discoveries. Dr. André Désormeaux, PerOs VP R&D, will be presenting the latest results regarding the oral delivery of viral antigens to Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) using the Oralject™ technology.

PerOs was a proud sponsor of the Salmon Health Status Seminar, that took place in Puerto Montt, Chile, August 24 to 25. The Salmon Health Status Seminar brought together renowned specialists from around the world to share ideas which will improve the state of aquaculture worldwide. Dr. Grant Vandenberg, CSO of PerOs Systems Technologies Inc., and Mr. Alejandro Rojas, General Manager of PerOs Aquatic, were both present. Dr. Grant Vandenberg talked about the importance of the biotechnology in the prevention and control of disease in fish. Among other subjects Dr. Vandenberg addressed the question of Oral vaccination as a key tool to manage health problems.

PerOs was pleased to be a part of the Canadian Embassy booth (D-311) at this year’s Aqua Nor event in Trondheim, Norway, from August 9 to 12, 2005. Aqua Nor is one of the most important aquaculture trade shows in the northern hemisphere, attracting some 15,000 visitors from around the world. We were pleased to present our innovative technology to other attendees, and want to thank you for your interest in PerOs!

This year PerOs was exhibiting at the BIO 2005 in Philadelphia, from June 19 to 22. Our business development team was delighted to discuss with you. PerOs was one of around 800 companies represented at the convention, which is considered to be a key industry event. It was an exciting opportunity to explore the breadth of biotechnological advancements now in development throughout the world.

On November 8 and 9, Mr. Denis Bernier, president of PerOs, had the opportunity to share insights with other leading figures in Canada’s animal health science and technology industry at Innovet 2004, the International Veterinary Business Conference. From May 26 to 29, V-P of Research & Development Dr. André Desormeaux presented at the Sixth International Symposium on Fish Immunology in Turku, Finland. From March 1 to 5, Dr. Grant Vandenberg, CSO of PerOs Systems Technologies Inc., attended the World Aquaculture 2004 in Hawaii. At this action-packed event he presented a poster entitled “Oral Delivery of a Bioactive Peptide to Marine Shrimp P. The fall of 2003 presented an excellent opportunity for Dr. Grant Vandenberg to fish for compliments at Aquaculture Canada 2003. He contributed to this event by giving a talk about the nutritional strategies to reduce phosphorus loading from salmonid aquaculture.

From August 12 to 15, PerOs had a booth at the aquaculture trade show Aqua Nor 2003 in Trondheim, Norway. The trade show welcomed 19,637 visitors from 63 countries and proved to be an interesting foray for the PerOs team.

Dr. Grant Vandenberg attended the 3rd International Symposium of Vaccinology, from April 9 to 11, to present his work. The aim of this meeting was to review the recent progress in fish vaccinology.

From March 19 to 22, PerOs participated in the most important trade show in the southern hemisphere. Here, for the first time, we manned a stand in order to meet with visitors at the Aqua Sur 2003. Moreover, on March 20, Dr. Grant Vandenberg made a presentation about his discovery: an oral delivery method of therapeutic compounds to fish.

On the February 21, Dr. Grant Vandenberg presented a study that provides clear evidence that furunculosis vaccine can be efficiently delivered orally using the Oralject™ system. Oralject™ is a novel proprietary oral delivery platform that has been developed to deliver intact molecules at the intestine level to monogastric animals.
