Among the millions of farmed fish vaccinated every year, a significant percentage suffer from physical damage (stress, mortalities, adhesion, necrosis, eating disorders) directly related to the injection process.

The impact of disease on the shrimp industry represents losses that can be counted in billions. It is not uncommon for shrimp farmers to lose a third of their production following a disease outbreak.

Given the physical limitations inherent in shrimp immunization, delivering bioactive compounds orally is the only practical solution.
